New Name Security Measures for USA Airlines

This shouldn’t affect Canadian Travellers too much for we already jump through most of the hoops anyway,

In short:

  • Airline passengers, starting next year will be barred from boarding planes if they refuse to provide their full name and birth date
  • first, middle and last name and birth date to the watch list will eliminate “most” false Security Watch Lists matches
  • name resembles a terrorist’s on a government watch list
  • starting in July for flights originating or ending in the USA
  • any flight traveling over the country
  • Some airlines may start in January
  • “costly and complex” to revise their computer systems complain airlines
